Josephine's Gallery is a 'MUST SEE' whilst in Coober Pedy. Wander through the impressive ABORIGINAL ART GALLERY, play a DIDGERIDOO, choose a beautiful OPAL from our extensive range or KISS A KANGAROO. Our passion is raising orphaned kangaroos and we offer you the opportunity to see these amazing creatures up close and maybe even hold a baby. Feeding times daily at 12 noon and 5:30pm. Don't be late!

My 10 year old was delighted to kiss a kangaroo at the session. We got to pat a baby orphaned kangaroo and learned a lot about the program. Their animals were treated with such kindness and respect and were not forced to do anything.

Great art gallery with artist in residence completing works as we watched. Also granted a digeridoo display. This was fantastic. Kangaroo feeding was promptly at 12 another feed scheduled for 5.30. Kangaroos prefer the 5.30 feed so didn't interact much. A Joey was bought out...More

I had noticed a sign outside this establishment that they took in orphaned Kangaroos as a sideline. For city slickers this would be a unique experience & so when I passed just on one of the advertised feeding times I was intrigued & went in....More

This place only asks for gold coin donations to help keep it up and running. The aboriginal art for sale is amazing. Then going out the back to feed kangaroos and other orphaned, injured or rescued animals was a feel-good experience. Maybe just as good...More

I admire Terry for incorporating, working and supporting the Aborginals, their culture and artwork. I've found it difficult over the past three weeks in AUS, NT to find activities, etc that really engage and enable you to experience the authentic Aboriginal culture as it was...More

It's an opal shop, art shop and kangaroo refuge. The owners do the kangaroo orphanage with donations so lets all help out.

We went to Josephine's as part of a tour group conducted by Aaron. We heard about aboriginal art, glanced around the gallery and enjoyed our time there.
