Amazing. I would suggest you google his story first so it's all in perspective when you visit. Worth the visit.

I think that the Crocodile Harry’s Underground Nest is THE MUST place for tourists to visit in Coober Pedy. At least in the best 5! The local government must take care of the place as one of the best attraction to the town. Unfortunately, this is not the case and in 2-3 years the Nest can be just lost.

Sadly gone to the big mine in the sky, but Croc' Harry and his attractions which he made to pass the time & have a laugh in the mostly lone-some ,hot, arid arid region of outback Australia came to be of interest to tourists visiting Coober Pedy and you can be sure of an interesting as well as funny experience.... Everyone must drop in to the iconic Crocodile Harry's. It is short drive from town on Seventeen Mile Rd, $7 for adult & $3 for a child in an honesty box. Has to be seen to be believed, full of his artwork, mementos from his many liasons, not sure why girls are still leaving knickers when he is deceased though.... More

Amazing crazy piece of history. A true underground cave experience. A shrine to Crocodile Harry, would loved to have met him! We always take people here when in Coober Pedy it should always be the number one attraction.

Crocodile Harry’s Underground Pit in Coober Pedy is an interesting little piece of history/shrine to the man who passed away about a decade ago and part of movie history with scenes from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome being filmed here. There is a donation of $5 per person to go in and check out all the artifacts and see how Croc... More

Absolutely crazy, definitely a must see, I don't know what I was expecting but this was not it. I wish it had more information on Crocodile Harry himself but he was clearly an incredible man, I wish I had the opportunity to meet him when he was alive. Don't be put off by the long drive out, it is worth... More

This is off the beaten track and apart from the underground dugout and very weird yard there is masses of graffiti.

What an odd and unusual place! No wonder it was used for a Mad Max film. The landscape is "out of this world". I was quite relieved not to meet Crocodile Harry (he's been deceased for some time but the local women say he used to chase them around trying to kiss them). Let's just say it's evident he was... This dugout shows the life of a very interesting and talented man. There are cravings and sculptures made out of whatever came Harry's way.
