Step inside Australia's oldest operating brewery, nestled at the foot of the majestic Mount Wellington, to learn how Cascade has been crafting beer since 1832. Our guides will share Cascade's fabled recipe; a dash of history, a healthy dose of Tasmania's finest ingredients and a generous serve of brewing craft. You can take a tour or just relax and enjoy Cascade beers and Mercury ciders, savour a delicious lunch and wander our three acres of heritage gardens.

The Visitor Centre is open 7 days a week between 10am - 5pm, excluding Good Friday and Christmas day and tours operate daily.

Certainly one of the better breweries in Australia!

I have done the tour before and do recommend it if it is your first time. Friday May 12th 2017. This time visiting Tasmania was purely to do a bit of work but mostly a bit... read more

Had the pleasure of being on a tour around the Cascade Brewery today. It was really worth the visit and if you're a beer or cider drinker, you get value for money with the tasting paddle at the end of the tour. We got to choose four 7oz glasses to taste. Not the usual small tastes. See the bottling process... More

It's amazing to see the brewery in real life, after seeing it on their bottles for years. The brewery is full of beer history and the tour is very informative. Make sure you have a designated driver, especially if you join in on the pouring competition at the end of the tour.

Great couple of hours. Interesting tour of the brewery showing you from start to finish of the process. Finished with a lovely lunch (own expense) with beer tastings. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. You can catch a local bus, which stops our the front or a taxi from in town $10-15 each way.

I have done the tour before and do recommend it if it is your first time. Friday May 12th 2017. This time visiting Tasmania was purely to do a bit of work but mostly a bit of R&R and what better way than sampling some of Tasmania's if not Australia's best beers! The fella behind the bar did sort of... More

We didn't make the tour, but they have a great bar and patio where we sampled a wide selection of their beers. They had a couple craft options that were quite good.

Very informative guide; would have loved to have seen the brewery in action though, not just a video of it. Got to sample beers at the end. Don't forget to wear long pants and closed in shoes (with socks that cover any skin).

You get a to tour a working brewery and your guide fills you in with all the history about it and when you finish the tour you get to sample the beer, how much better than that can it get...

Walked from down town Hobart to cascade brewery getting a great view of the old Hobart town. Lots of history! Visited the brewery garden before a very informative tour with guide Thomas. Knew all about the history and the brewing stuff. Great tour with a great finale tasting plenty of cider and beer. A must visit if going to Hobart.... More

Only 5klm from Hobart, we got back from MONA around lunch time and was looking for something to fill our afternoon. We arrived at 2pm just in time for the 2.30pm tour , even though a weekend and the factory workers were on RDO, the tour was fantastic. Just 7 of us on the tour with Jamie and he was... More

A great tour and the lunch was simply fantastic. Our group had a variety of menu and all enjoyed it. The men had their beer. The gardens are fabulous to see and a beautiful sculpture to look at.
