Battery Point is a great area to wander and enjoy some interesting architecture. Walking from Sandy Bay to Salamanca Square takes you through Battery Point. We used Kelly's Steps near the Salamanca Arts Centre and then the Nanny Goat Track. A stop off at the bakery or the Prince of Wales is recommended.

We strolled around the area on a sunny Sunday ...if you have the time take a walk around and absorb the history in this lovely area of Tassie. There are lots of spots that you will need your camera for or you can just t

We walked up the Kelly's Steps from Salamanca Place to Battery Point. The architecture of the houses around Battery Point was varied. We spend a couple of hours walking the streets looking at the houses. We met many friendly on our journey which added to our enjoyment of our walk. There were some magnificent houses and Arthurs Circus was a... More

I had a map and just wandered around Battery Point, feeling the history. I discovered some cute restaurants and a bakery. I found my way to the waters edge and read the display material that is placed around Battery Point. I found one historic circle surrounded by historic dwellings. This was a memorable part of my Hobart visit.

Stunning early morning views here, we just had a wee walk, to stretch our legs before heading out of town. There are some fantastic spots to view the water, boats and dog walkers. We met some nice locals who told us a bit about the changes taking place.

We started the walk from Kelly's Step and followed the printable tour which you can find on-line. We got a little lost but mostly found our way. The walk is a bit tiring as there are a number of hills but nothing too strenuous. It was lovely walking around the streets and looking at all the lovely homes and buildings.... More

Like much of Hobart today the area has become so up market and expensive... More

This is a good place to look around for your afternoon walk. There are many beautiful buildings to see around the area and it's really relaxing and I was enjoying it a lot. So many good spots for taking pictures too, you'll discover them once you walk around the area. Battery point is just a walking distance from Salamanca to... More

We stayed in Battery Point while visiting Hobart and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Everywhere you walk there is something beautiful to look at. It is close to everything and yet seems a million miles away. There is so much history and beauty everywhere you look. There is also a great selection of places to eat. Just wonderful.
