NINE FOOD PRODUCERS on and off the Island. Bruny Island day tours, Bruny...

NINE FOOD PRODUCERS on and off the Island. Bruny Island day tours, Bruny Island Lighthouse tours, Bruny Island Food tours, Bruny Island Sightseeing Tours and Bruny Island Overnight Tours. The only tour in Tasmania offering Lighthouse access in the South Bruny National Park on all tours.

Eat your way around Bruny Island on a gourmet and sightseeing tour departing Hobart. Visit scenic lookouts overlooking Adventure Bay and Cape Bruny, and spot echidnas, white wallabies, birdlife and other wildlife. You'll taste the gourmet treats Bruny Island is famous for, from artisan cheeses and locally grown berries to smoked salmon, chocolates, nougat, fudge, gourmet ice-cream, wine and whisky (small tasting fee). With pick up and drop-off from your hotel included, along with the round-trip ferry and National Park entry, this is the ultimate way to experience Bruny Island's wild beauty and wickedly delicious gourmet food. Your tour begins with pickup from your Hobart hotel and a scenic drive to the pretty coastal town of Kettering, where your Bruny Island ferry departs. Enjoy the 15-minute cruise over to Bruny Island, then travel by air-conditioned minivan to the narrow neck of land connecting the north and south parts of the island, passing oyster farms and grazing properties en route. Your island tour begins with a private cheese tasting at Bruny Island Cheese Company. After this enjoy views from Adventure Bay lookout and the Hummock lookout, a significant indigenous site that's home to Truganini Memorial. Continue to Adventure Bay and stop for morning tea at the Bruny Island Berry Farm (Seasonal). Locally grown berry fruits are available in all kinds of ways here, including ice cream, pancakes, scones with jam and cream, strawberry and chocolate fondue, and berry cakes. Your tour continues along the Mount Mangana Trail, passing Cloudy Bay on the way to Cape Bruny Lighthouse. The lighthouse is Australia's last vantage point to spot migrating humpback and southern right whales, and an important navigational landmark for ships at sea, and the oldest manned lighthouse in Australia. You will enjoy a group tour of the lighthouse and learn all about how it was built, climb the spiral staircase and see the original working prisms, before stepping out onto the balcony for the amazing coastal views elevated 114m above the sea. Feeling hungry by now, stop at Hotel Bruny for a wonderful lunch featuring local Tasmanian and island produce, including locally caught fish, and Tasmanian beef and lamb. The afternoon is all about nature and more food, with stops at Get Shucked super fresh oysters (Oyster tasting) and Bruny Island House of Whisky. Walk off your indulgent lunch and tastings on a short stroll along the beach and through Bruny Island's pristine rainforests keeping an eye out for echidnas, white wallabies, wildflowers and the island's unique birdlife. Later in the afternoon enjoy the round-trip ferry to Kettering, we drop into a gourmet ice-cream producer and stop off for a chocolate-making presentation and tasting at Nutpatch Nougat Chocolates before returning to Hobart, exclusive to Bruny Island Safaris.

Try our overnight and premium Bruny Island tours and enjoy some Bruny Island short walks, maybe some jetty fishing and wind down at your cabin with a glass of local wine and cook up your catch.

The "Bruny Island Sightseeing & Gourmet Food Tour and Lighthouse Tour" was marketed as a fun-filled gourmet tour of the island, however that was not to be. While the tour promised numerous food and tasting stops along the way, many were not given. Bruny island safari's website and the tour itinerary provided claimed to bring guests to food tastings of... More

Hello Wei N, Thank you for your review. Understandably we are very concerned about your experience and would like it if you could email us directly. We do however find it strange that everyone else on the tour that day appeared to have a great experience? So at this point we are contacting the other guests also. In regards to... More

We went on a Sunday and the group had a number of small buses running. Unfortunately, we appeared to get the old standby bus and were the last couple to be picked up. We couldn't sit together and my wife had no leg room up front against the engine cover. Luck of the draw I guess. Despite that, Mark (our... More

Hello Geoff, Thank you for you great review.... And thank you for the recommendations. Our apologies you couldn't sit with your wife. It's the nature of the tour industry as we often get couples or triples that unbalance the seating arrangements. Usually we can get around this if it's brought to the attention of the tour guide and we can... More

What a great day! Our tour guide Mani was passionate about Tasmania, knowledgeable on every topic and loads of laughs. The local lunch was enjoyed by all and after all the other food stops and the last stop, Tassie whisky and gin were a well-feed, happy bunch by return.

We ate a lot of foods in there. Everything is from bruny, but it tastes excellent. We ate fresh cheese, supersweet chocolate, tasty cherry cider, fresh honey and oyster in thete. They were really great. I also love the bruny light house. It is good place to see the whole island and tasmania.

I was picked up in front of my accommodation and from there an absolutely amazing day unfolded with our exceptionally knowledgeable tour guide, Rick. Rick provided us with so much local knowledge - of Bruny Island life itself, along with his wonderful knowledge of the flora and fauna ... the breadth of his knowledge and the interesting way he conducted... This was just a magical day. We were picked up from our motel, and our lovely tour guide was with us the whole day. We visited the lighthouse, some gourmet outlets, and had a lovely lunch, and even viewed some white wallabies. It was worth every cent. They returned us to our motel at the end of the fabulous day.... More
