It always seems to take longer to drive to it than you expect. But once you're there, you are overcome by the view and the differences as you walk around.

Great place to visit on a clear day. Several lookout areas and walking tracks all with great water views. Some very interesting history of the old signal station and its operation. Can be quite windy and cold some days.

Well worth the trip but if the weather is inclement I wouldn't advise a visit. It can be quite cold even in the summer so take a jacket

Pretty decent panoramic view of the bay. Unfortunately you can't see much of the city but overall one of the better easy to reach view points.

Beautiful panoramic views to the Hobart harbor and surrounding bays. Also make reservations for a great lunch at the Signal Station.

Mount Nelson is only a brief drive from the CBD but it has some grand views of Hobart and the Derwent. There is one of the original signal boxes and a good cafe. Worth a look.
