North Hobart has a great vibe, plenty of cafes, hotels and restaurants. The State Theatre is a terrific old cinema. A true foodies precinct.

Great restaurants and cafés along both sides of Elizabeth Street running for two blocks. If you can't find something you like here you're not trying! All cuisines covered.

By happenstance we chose an AirBNB in North Hobart and were very happy with the location. It is only a 20 minute walk to downtown Hobart and I thought a much nicer location. North Hobart is a residential neighborhood with lots of hip restaurants and pubs.Hobart is a small city and easy to navigate, so North Hobart is still very... More

Hobart has a lot to offer a tourist and it is worth travelling to all the areas of the city to be able to appreciate the diversity that is on offer. Restaurants and cafes offer variety whilst just walking around enables you to discover the quaintness of some of the craft shops etc.

Visited Hobart over the long weekend and enjoyed a walk in North Hobart and the variety of different eateries and places to drop into to have a coffee / tea / beverage of some sort. Good for those who are able to walk up and down hills and ensure you take an umbrella just in case.

Some great pubs and restaurants, this place feels like the more real hobart, locals mixing with any tourist that bothers to leave the mona/salamanca must sees. The Republic Bar and Winston feel like real pubs opoosed to the fake tourist bars on Salamanca

If you are looking for an area with a great choice of restaurants, then North Hobart is the place. There is enough variety to suit all tastes, particularly ethnic (Vietnamese, Turkish, etc.). Short walk from Hobart's CBC.

A great way to travel. Crew were very polite and welcoming. Windows must be a nightmare. Go the posh pit for the personal service.

A narrow main street with slow traffic and full of cafes and restaurants. A must is a visit to the State Theater, a picture theater/cafe/book shop.
