St Joseph's is a very poor community, but generous in its welcome to visitors and full of warmth and humanity. The services are modest but heartfelt with intelligent sermons. The priests are from the Passionists order. St. Josphes was blessed on the morn of Christmas Day 1841. It's stained glass windows are beautiful as it the wooodwork of the ceiling.

Having visited both Hobart Cathedrals and MONA, it was a great pleasure to come across St Joseph’s, and to find it open. St Joseph's Catholic Church Hobart quietly appeals to many tastes. These include the pious churchgoer, the tourist checking out Hobart's architecture and the avid fan of historical Hobart. In my many visits to Hobart, this and about seven other churches have made their mark on me with their cute, handsome, aesthetically refined qualities and St. Joseph's has done on all those occasions, a cute, cosy sight, this tiny church, conveying the essence of the 19thC with its almost puritanically severe religious vibe, being a little older aesthetically than...
