Beautiful place

We visited just prior to an evening service and the choir was practising, it was lovely atmosphere for this non church goer, worth a visit.

Maybe me but I have never been to a cathedral that appears to be closed most of the time. Looked from the outside like any English town church - neither pretty or inspiring. Come on guys open it up a least a couple of hours during the day where is your civic pride.

I'm surprised at this review as St. David's Cathedral, Hobart, is open everyday between 8.30am and around 5pm depending on when the last staff member leaves. Saturday is similar usually 9 till around 4pm and 7.30am to 6.30pm. Obviously we were closed when you came I'd love to know which day and when so I can find out what happened... More

I love churches particularly really old ones like this one. The architecture is amazing and even where it was built in the town makes it the centre of attention. Beautiful.

Worth having a look, spectacular on the outside, and has some history on the inside. A peaceful interlude

With so many old buildings round it is easy to miss but one of our bus tours dropped us outside so we really stumbled across it.

We were lucky enough to be visiting during the Saint David's Cathedral Floral Festival. The already beautiful cathedral was filled with stunning floral displays and it was a joy to walk through. This is a very beautiful building with quite a bit of history which you can discover with a self guided tour (brochures available just inside the rear door).... More

Highlights include the homage to Australia's last WWI veteran Alec Campbell, the amazing Rood Screen, a contemplative space for the victims of Port Arthur, and the superb organ. This is a real hidden gem, and the streetscape outside is phenomenal - intact Georgian architecture.

The Cathedral was decorated for Christmas. Especially enjoyed the "Star Wars" theme to their Christmas Service information outside!

A really nice cathedral located centrally in Hobart. I didn't get the chance to go inside and check it out but the architecture from the outside is quite nice.
