Great location lots of eateries, 30 minute walk to Salamanca markets and lots of historic arcitecture to look at on the way. Also wandered down to the waterfront to the Yacht club for a look

Not much of a beach, but a park to walk with dogs, and views out into the harbour. Some nice houses nearby.

Walked along the shore from the Casino to Nutgrove Beach. Only one street to cross in 2.5 km. Lovely walk looking at the harbor and the houses. We had a beautiful sunny day and warm weather. Would be equally good on a cool day. Worth...More

While touring in Hobart, we really enjoyed our visit to Sandy Bay and the rest of the wharf area. Power boats, sailing vessels and larger ships -- all anchored in this area -- provide a picture-perfect setting for water lovers and photographers too.

Lovely local park with toilet facilities. We commenced our kayak here with Roaring 40s. We've returned to the park and walked along the beautiful waterfront each morning

We had 3 nights in a B&B & one night at Wrest Point Casino. a fabulous well stocked provedore close by well worth visiting

we stayed at Sandy bay for couple of days and it was a beautiful area. Quite lively with shops and restaurants and also not far from salmanca market

i agree me wah is up there but expensive.
