My Visiting brother wanted to see the 12 Apostles .Approx 300km from Melbourne some winding rds with Hillclimbs We left very early in the morning from Melbourne Cbd I would recommend leaving at Sun up as the drive from Melbourne to the start of the Great Ocean Rd takes about to 1hr . I have just returned from the Great Ocean Tour with Escape Adventure Tours. Rob picked me up on time in an immaculate Mercedes van. This vehicle was the perfect transportation for this tour. We were able to travel to and park in areas that larger buses and vans couldn't. From start to finish, Rob was informative and entertaining. He managed... More

This visit to Escape Discovery Adventures is good during Autumn and Spring... Do not go during Summer .. Scorching Heat, UV Rays high heat and Sun Stroke are very much possible. Avoid this tour during Summer. Spring, Autumn and begin the tour in Winter early times is fine.

The Great Ocean Road tour was the highlight of our stay in Melbourne. Rob is an excellent tour guide and he did an excellent job of ensuring that everyone was informed and had a good time. It was the only day trip where we saw Koala's in the wild. It's a very long day trip, but worth the time. There... More

My wife and I went on the Great Ocean Road tour last week, and had a fantastic time. The guide (Stacey) was really excellent, with lots of information and plenty of interesting stories. Stacey's laid back approach to the tour really made the trip. The collection and drop off from our hotel door was also really appreciated, along with the... More

Booked a last minute day trip to the Great Ocean Road with Escape Discovery Adventures And this was one of my highlights of Australia and i would recommend the tour to solo travellers as well as families or couples! The guide Rob gave us some fascinating facts - you can tell he really knows his stuff. His degree in history... More

if I could do it again, I would break it up, but it was a great day. We met nice people from Argentina and Hong Kong as it was a small group you could chat. We added a helicopter ride and my 15 year old loved it. So go for the two day trip if you have the time. Guide... More

The views are amazing and the guide was lovely. We saw a Koala for the very first time and it wasn't in captivity, priceless!

We took the Great Ocean Road Tour with Rob and he was terrific. He was informative, engaging and fun. We had a great time and it was a long day!! The only suggestion I would make is bring a face net if it is fly season. The flys at the the 9 Apostles were brutal. It might be a good... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
