A little depressing

I wasn't prepared for how depressing I would feel doing this tour, however, it was educational and entertaining. Was a little short but worthwhile.

While experiencing these tours it really shows you a lot about how things have changed over the past years and how tough prison and being on trial use to be not like today... Really good acting done and the staff are really good at their jobs..

If you have decent background knowledge of crimes in Melbourne it probably isn't worth your time. There are cheaper options such as visiting the Gaol, going on the free walking tours, watching Underbelly and visiting the Police Museum and Melbourne Museum. The tour itself was actually fine, just pushing it at the price.

This tour was everything I thought it would be. Did not disappoint. Our tour guide Daniel, was very nice and knew his stuff. I probably didn't learn anything new as I have read almost every true crime book, but it was just really interesting to see where these terrible crimes actually took place. Drinks were provided and there were enough... More

My boyfriend and I had heard about the tour online and decided it would b an interesting way to spend an afternoon as he had a keen interest in the underbelly series. Our tour guide Alex was full of information and clearly took great passion in his work but about an hour into the tour I was starting to lose... More

As a fan of all things crime - this tour was a must. You are collected in a mini-bus with mostly like minded others - to head off on a journey to visit key sites of crime including the stories from the 'Underbelly' genre and others. Steve our guide was great and motivated - he drives the bus and tells... More

My husband and I are great fans of Underbelly series so thought this would be fun. Our tour guide was fantastic and it was obvious he really enjoyed his weekend job!! Lots of interesting crime stories and the discounted ticket to the Old Melbourne Gaol was appreciated. Loved the brown paper bag treats!

Great tour. Very informative and interesting. Travis was a great tour guide with a good sense of humour and a sound knowledge of the underworld. Loved every minute of it

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
