    Central Shopping mall
Visited in Feb 2023 Located just above the Central station, this massive shopping mall has plenty of shops from various brands and many F&B outlets as well as food courts and cinema (Hoyts). In downtown Melbourne close to Chinatown, this place can get busy! I'm here for Lego and Kiehl's. Loved this mall and Chadstone mall. Even if you're not a shopper, this mall has some interesting architecture.

    Celebration at Novotel MC
We celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday at Novotel Melbourne Central. We booked for an overnight stay and made dinner reservations at Pretty Boy Italian Restaurant. We were greeted warmly at the reception & they’ve been handing chilled sparkling wine, how good is that! Isabella made sure everyone checking in are being attended to. The rooms couldn’t be faulted, very clean, fresh sheets, made up bed & my daughter even got a hand written card from the NIMC team with chocolates & balloons. Loved the bathroom that comes with a make up mirror, definitely a plus. Facilities are looking good. We’ve been to different hotels in the city and it was our first time at Novotel Central and I can say we were very impressed. Then for dinner, we were assisted by the very approachable & lovely Chef Darren. Weeks before the event he called me & helped me with what kind of menu/dinner set up I would like to have. I said its just an intimate dinner with close family and friends and all of his suggestions were on point. Food, drinks, what we need on the night for decorations, etc. He made planning very seamless. On the night our friends had an exquisite dinner. We had the feed me menu which we were very pleased with. We loved the good food, wine glasses always filled and the ambience of the restaurant overall made it a perfect event. Sergio looked after us the entire night and mind you the restaurant is very busy. Loved their service. The chef on the night even came out to greet us & checked on us. I would definitely recommend this place for any party or celebration you might have or if you are just wanting to have a staycation. It’s in the heart of the city and next to popular malls, church, train station, etc. You would never run out of things to do here. To top it all, it all ends well with their buffet breakfast with so much selections , freshly squeezed juice, made to order omelettes & latte. Thank you Em for letting us find this gem in the city! Definitely coming back here.

    Shopping center provides interesting features
Melbourne Central is a shopping center. Amongst its interesting features is the Shot Tower. It is enclosed by a soaring glass tower. The giant watch is fun, it provides regular performances. Popular shopping center in the middle of the city
Melbourne Central is a popular shopping center in the middle of the city of Melbourne. It adjoins Melbourne Central Station; a train stop on the City Loop. Melbourne Central is prospering, it has a wide variety of specialty outlets. A favouite with visitors are the p cockatoos, who perform on the hour with the clock. The historic Coops Shot Tower is sheltered by a conical glass tower.

    all you need
It is a very handy location. It has a wide range of shops, cinemas, food facilities, is on top of a metro station, next to busy tram lines, and across the road from the public library. I am often passing through here and frequently pop in for food or coffee. There is much to choose from. Sometimes I just come in to be out of the weather.

Central Prime Luxury near Melbourne Central, 285 La Trobe Street, 3000 Melbourne, Australia. Cancelled on us when we arrived at accommodation at 5pm. Do not book this accommodation you will regret it. The excuse they gave was pathetic and they left it until we contacted them at 5pm when we were trying to pick up the keys to tell us that the keys were lost and they did not have a spare and that the cleaning had not been done. There was no contact from them during the day, when they could have given us more time to find alternative accommodation. It cost us an extra $300 to rebook! We were left in Melbourne at 5pm without accommodation and only got a room when we contacted Oaks on Collins where we have stayed before.

Melbourne Central opened in the 1990s and has a very impressive dome in the middle. The dome protects the historic Coop's Shot Tower which was built in the 1800s and the mall saved the tower from demolition!

The mall is well connected to public transport and is in the free tram zone. The mall is full of good quality shops, coffee and could be a good place to get a bite to eat. If your there on the hour look for the large Seiko clock which will open up to reveal some funny Australian birds and has some koalas on the back by the gears.

Our first time to return to this restaurant after the pandemic. Food is great as usual. Lobster and crispy pata were tasty and the portions are generous.
