Amazing! The square is nicely set up whilst not being over the top and the town hall's display is just spectacular. The colours are so vivid and the story captivating. A must see if there around Christmas.

Not much of a "City Square" compared to old European cities but a good location for visitors in terms of close proximity to major attractions in Melbourne such as St. Paul's Cathedral, Flinders Street Station, Federation Square, etc.

This has had many transformations over the years and really is not that good and a little embarrassing for a place in such a prominent part of Melbourne just to the south of the Town Hall . Sadly the area opposite in Swanston Street is better but still a tacky part of Melbourne.

Not a large space.... just a small square between Swanston street and Collins street. There isn't very much to see at the square itself but St Paul's cathedral is just near it and that's worth seeing.

Great location to see Melbourne from. They often hold events and special events. The public toilets under the town hall are nice and clean. Easy to get to as there are trams from everywhere to here.

Well located in the heart of the city and a good place for catching up with friends. Apart from that, it is still just a city piazza.

This is small area in the city center. An ideal place to meet and have a coffee with business associates or friends in the city center.

Melbourne does not really have a great square for public gatherings of joy and celebration. The City Square is rather small but it does have some interesting features and some good coffee shops. The Westin Melboourne is close by.

This used to be a wasted space. Now it is lovely, trendy and fun. It has a stunningly beautiful water feature running right through it. It would be fabulous on a warm day. The trendy little cafes in the square are lovely and of course there is the very popular Brunetti's as well!

Prior to the construction of Federation Square just a block away this was Melbourne's main piazza. It is now quite small but more attractive and inviting than the vast open and often windy Federation Square because there is shade from the lovely deciduous trees and seating. In addition there are cafes and eating places. The square is bounded by St.... More
