I love living close to the river. It's perfect for walking the dog in any weather! Watching the recreational river users, like boating, fishing, water skiing, rowing and so on is such fun. My sons often take their boat out and always come back with...More

The four of us took a 1hr 15min river cruise (one-way) to Freo and back to Perth. At Elizabeth Quay, Cpt Cooks' Cruises cost A$40 each, was worth it taking in the sights. Three such cruises per day at 9.45am, 11.15am and 2.45pm.

Both Perth Harbour and the boat trip to Freo, as it is known are fabulous. Very dramatic and colourful. Well with a day or two exploring both.

The swan river forms an important artery linking Perth to Freemantle. I would recommend a boat tour which will take you downstream. offering good views of the city

We sailed on the river from Perth to Freemantle. Made the whole Freemantle trip worth the tour. The river tour was the best part of that day!

We took the ferry from the newly opened Elizabeth Quay to Minds St Jetty. It is an enjoyable short ride. Come out from the jetty, walk along the riverside and look back towards the Swan River. We have a picturesque view of Perth City framed...More

Hi fisherman- sorry I didn't reply quickly. Yes, plenty of fishing spots all along the river. I'm not sure about restrictions but I think the new developments wouldn't encourage fishing- but that would be in the city's... More

Infants travel free, there are lovely eating places at both sides of the river. The one in South Perth is superb. The ferry goes from Barrack Street. The Esplanade train station is the nearest station
