The State Buildings are located in the historic heart of Perth, connecting three iconic heritage buildings that were formally known as the Lands, Titles and Treasury buildings. The buildings have been beautifully restored, resulting in a vibrant hub of life and activity, offering a carefully curated mix of hospitality and retail offerings, as well as COMO The Treasury hotel.

The State Buildings were Treasury, Lands and Titles, they were the administrative heart of Western Australia's government. The buildings are built of red brick and stucco, as with most colonial era public buildings. The State buildings are on the corner of St George's Terrace and Barrack Street, in the center of the State's capital. After many years of neglect, the State Buildings are once again the heart of Perth.

Purchased a lunch of Ham & Cheese crossiants from the Cafe "SHOP 1875". The crossiants themselves wher large,light & fluffy. The filling was adequate. We sat near this cafe out in the Hall. The decor was bright and reflected the traditional building in a modern way. Furniture was simple. The only criticisms were the Music which was at too loud a volume & the glass of wine from the adjoining "WINE MERCHANT" although been one of the cheaper ones available still cost $17 per glass.

The State Buildings were the administrative heart of Western Australia for many years. The classic buildings occupy one of the most prominent locations in Perth, at the corner of St Georges Tce and Barrack St The buildings are officially known as the Lands, Titles and Treasury Buildings. These days, the State Buildings hast everything from a super premium hotel to a barber shop.

This old collection of state buildings has been transformed and renovated into a myriad of historical buildings with a current day purpose. Known as the treasury building it now serves as home to a variety of cafes, restaurants, and bars.
This is a magnificent place for a walk through to view the old buildings charm and enjoy its new use.

A great example of how to utilise an old building which needs to be preserved. The Architects and builders and the owners here have done a wonderful job. Drop in to have a look or visit one of the restaurants/bars other businesses in the complex.

As goes with the surroundings, this is not bottom end dining. No chips with everything here. We have been to The Petition which is modern Italian, Long Chim which is Thai, plus Post . We havent been to Wildflower which is formal dining.
All three we have been to were terrific. Seating at Long Chim was closer and it was a little noisy as is the modern way. The Petition and Post were quiet and the tables spaciously placed. You will feel comfortable here in neat casual or dressed up for a special occasion.
At our latest Petition meal we had a glass of wine each and a shared entree plate with main course. The bill was roughly $60 per head. The meal size was good ie not spilling over the side of the plate like a road house Tee bone but not miniscule like degustation serves!!
I chose one of the cheaper wines by the glass and it was a terrific red and my friend enjoyed his white also a by the glass selection .
Great place to take customers or family ie any of the ones we tried. You can bet that the Wildflower is a cut above but check the prices compared with your expectations first.
This review is in the building section because I couldn't find the restaurants on Trip Advisor site other than in the building. The building however is worth a stroll inside. Beware there is a stylish jeweller in there selling very good diamond jewellery!!

Having the afternoon tea at the State Building is one of my regular routines here. They promote different afternoon tea every season. Fresh local produce are used in its afternoon tea and the creativity of the food and colour are amazing!
I love sitting at its lounge area to enjoy my food and tea or catch up with my friends. Especially if it's winter, I love sitting next to the fireplace to enjoy my warm scones...So relax and cosy.
Of course, menu are changed on quarterly basis to keep people interested. All food are made to order to keep the freshness that I love.
It is available every single afternoon, not just the weekend! I think it is a great idea!

This area underwent develepment some years back and it's heritage and appeal weren't lost in the process.
As you walk through, you get the feeling of grace and charm from this majestic building.
There are lots of equisite shops peppered throughout and makes for a comfortable break in the CBD.

We had a weekend in Perth as locals and was amazed to re-discover our own city. They have done a wonderful job in renovating and preserving this area. It is so large and spacious and had lots of cafes and restaurants inside this area.
You can go upstairs and have fine dining and enjoy the view our just choose one of the several bars and restaurant areas.
It's great to see the positive changes happening in Perth.
