I wandered over to the Rio Tinto Naturescape area whilst in Kings Park today, as I've been in Perth for a little while now and hadn't checked out the Rio Tinto area of the park yet. Unfortunately it's closed for refurbishment until late 2017. So if you were planning to visit, hold off until it reopens in late 2017.

The kids love visiting this place. It's a nice change to the usual playgrounds. There's quite a lot to it and you could easily spend a couple of hours there. It could do with some more shelter as it can be unpleasant on a really hot day.

A great place to visit and a fabulous way for Rio Tinto to give something back to their community. The kids and adults alike had a wonderful day exploring in this area of Kings Park

What a great place for children to play without plastic toys, iPads etc. just water, bush and logs to scramble over.

I thought this playground was really beautiful but just not quite right for my younger children (3 and 6 years). I would recommend it for mid to upper primary school age.

Had a lovely afternoon photographing wildflowers, bobtails, ducks, and more. Very relaxed and enjoyable. There are boardwalks and trails to follow so that you don't damage the flora and fauna but there are also play areas like the water course that kids and families can play in. Also rope climbing and a tower to climb. Kids can use dead branches... More

both boys (4 and 2) love exploring Naturescape and always have a good time climbing the lookouts and building huts. Even though its mostly aimed at slightly bigger children, ours always have a good time!

We had a lot of fun climbing towers and ropes, building cubbies and walking along the rocks in this playground. Great way to get the children playing in/with nature.
