We took advantage of the perfect spring weather and the annual Heritage Weekend to wander through the gardens of Government House. I had no idea how large it was nor how beautiful - with undulating lawns and gardens that are impeccably cared for. Pipe band playing, old cars on display - including an original Boans truck - lots of family... More

Once the public could use the gardens but unfortunately in this security conscious world another place has been restricted. It is high overlooking the swan estuary. Best viewed from the city looking towards the waterfront.

Government House is a beautiful building in superb gardens. Some of the plants must be years old, pity about the people that are our pollies in there.

The Governor of Western Australia (WA) lives and works in Government House. I have been there several times; the interior is fine example of Victorian-era craftsmanship. The Governor is not an elected official, he is appointed by the Queen on the advice of the Premier of WA. A number of worthy people have held the post. If you want to... More

I was very lucky as the gate was open and the place was open for inspection but not the building just the grounds. It is open a few times a year for tours though and it is a splendid building

A great way to relax and walk amongst the lush green perfectly manicured gardens. Historic trees, gardens, and fountains. Rich history!.. A good way to kill an hour or so!.. Highly recommend if you are into history and gardens!

Government House is the official residence and office of the Governor of Western Australia. The Governor is the constitutional head of government in Western Australia. The building is quite magnificent. The building dates from the 1860s. I have visited Government House several times. You can take a peek at Government House on the regular open days. The gardens are also... More
