Gosh things have changed in 14 years. Sealed road to the walkway then a pram friendly path the whole way to the lighthouse is a huge improvement. Always a stunning view from the top of NZ A must do

Was a wonderful place where the Tasman and the Pacific seas meet. Quite a historic place. As usual Nzl has a lot of surprises along its way to the top!

For a FREE tourist attraction, Cape Reinga is immaculately maintained. I can think of several other countries I've been to, in Europe for example, where you'd have to pay big admission costs, but not here! Easy walk to the lighthouse and amazing photo opportunities! Depending...More

After a very long drive it was rewarding to see the pleasant views. A bit of a hilly walk to the lighthouse, but manageable. We were both surprised to find no cafe anywhere near here seeing as it's a tourist attraction, so bring your own...More

Cape Reinga should be on every Kiwi bucket list and although it is a long drive to reach don't let that put you off. Take your time and don't rush this trip. If travelling up from Auckland definitely get off SH1 at Pakaraka and take...More

We visited the cape as part of a group tour. The plant life looks a lot different to the rest of the north island. The views around the peninsula are amazing and its quite a sight to see the Pacific meeting the Tasman sea. Highly...More

I didn't see any other dogs, like others have said, but I don't recall seeing any 'no dog signs' This being said, there are signs that prohibit eating and any garbage left behind as it is a sacred space. There is no one... More
