What can you say - 2km of wall to wall cafes, restaurants and great boutique shops. Some of my favourites - Ponsonby Central for eating - good mix of food places - the Fairy Shop - great for little girls - Central Park - excellent coffee. You need to walk to take it all in - so park the car... More

With its many boutique local fashion label Shops. There are a range of varied eateries and also a great Coffee Culture. Some Eateries offer live music and there are bars aplenty.

This little area of town was such a pleasure to visit. We went window shopping. Stopped at a couple of places to nibble and get a glass of wine. There is place where there is about 15 restaurants in one area and it had an Argentinian restaurant there that was fabulous. Can't remember the name.

Walking down Ponsonby and its side streets is a wonderfully interesting due to its vast collection of historic colonial villas, its warm and friendly locals and the many cafes, shops, restaurants and watering holes that line the street. Small and interesting galleries are well worth a visit to see some local art, and the food is second to none! Ponsonby... More

Great cafe's and restaurants along a buzzing street. Great bars and nightlife after dark. Add in a few historical buildings and it makes for a great stroll with the family.

Shopping (first rate), cafes, pubs etc etc. Great stretch of road is Ponsonby - from Richmond Rd to just past Ponsonby Central, both sides of the road!

The suburb mainly consists of overpriced eateries, boutique shops and cafes specialising in decaf soy-milk lattes. The architecture is pleasing, and you will spot some lovely handbag-dogs. You will also see Kathmandu jackets in summer and ray-bans in winter.

Ponsonby is one of the nicer places to shop in Auckland. Better than Queen street, and different to Newmarket, which is also great for shopping. All types of shops, clothing, bedding, make-up, homeware to name a few. Some are overpriced, but so are "most" of Auckland boutique shops. Favourites for me are "Millys Kitchen" "Lululemon" and the fabulous "Women's Bookshop"... More
