K Road is busy. Dirty, persian & asian convenient shops with their low quality; dodgy bars and no name restaurants... Nightlife? Not fun and not safe.

If you are in Auckland only once - then K Road is worth a visit. I went by myself with my four year old daughter and was a little scared when I got out of the car! I was headed to St. Kevin's Arcade and had to walk a bit by seedy looking characters - but no one bothered me... More

Forget the glittering towers of corporate power down town or the upper class yawn of ponsonby and parnell. You want real life great coffee, great food, great atmoshere , great clubs. Try karangahape rd. Yup its grimey and theres "strange folk, who live their lives " But this is the city. This is the heart and to be honest there... More

K-Road has an eclectic array of shops, restaurants, and bars/clubs. It's great for people watching, strolling, and window shopping - especially on a warm, sunny day.

Long known as Auckland's red light district, K Rd is now rather more tame. It is still home to numerous 'adult' shops and clubs, gay bars, and old style pubs, but increasingly has some great cafes, bars, and art galleries as they spread down the strip from Ponsonby Road. Seems to have lost its once Pacific Island feel and is... More

We can find lots of Muslim halal eateries here and our favourites is Aydin Portugese Grilled Chicken. Very delicious indeed and we really missed the food there. There are also lots of second hand stores. We never feel tired of walking from Simon Street till the end of K Road... we really enjoy our long walk due to the many... More
