Superb views across Auckland. A pleasant walk, but better to avoid peak times such as weekend afternoons if you want unobstructed photos

The view is worth the hike. I am 56 years old and not in shape. The hike from the drop off point on the Hop On-Hop Off bus only took me about 10 minutes. Best outdoor view of Auckland! However, we did not go up...More

Great views of all Auckland for the physically fit. It’s a steep climb for a good fifteen minutes but rewarding views.

Wonderful panaramic view of Auckland from Mt Eden. Learned a lot about European vs Maori culture while up here as well. Well worth the climb!

I stayed close so I could do this hike everyday. The neighbourhood is quiet, gives you a good sweat. Paths as well as pavement. And a 360° view. If you stick with the paved road, I think anyone could do this hike/walk.

Nice steady climb on tarmac roads to summit. Views at the top make it all worthwhile, with excellent panorama of Auckland,Skytower,One Tree Hill,Rangitoto and the Harbour bridge. Volcanic crater is huge but sacred ground,so do not enter although you may walk the perimeter. Free parking.

Hi. Yep absolutely. It's concreted footpath all the way up. So if you go slow, weather is nice and you are wearing comfortable gear - you will be good as gold! Good luck!;)
