Dear Madam/Sir, RE: Mount Eden in Auckland is an active volcanic territory and visible volcanic craters could be an amazing sight. The activity could be greatly inspiring for seismic and volcanic studies as well as nature lovers alike. Thank You

Amazing views from the top overlooking Auckland harbor and the city. It's pet friendly too. I prefer the view from here to the Sky Tower.

After hiking here a few times including one visit for several hours, I noticed a sign upon exiting that glycophosphates are used in the park's pesticide program. This is a known carcinogen. If I had known earlier, I would've avoided Eden Park completely. Wish they didn't use poison.

Big walk on asphalt and not really special. Not really good signed and a lot of tourists. I was disappointed.

If you want to see the remains of a crater, this would be a good place to go in Aucklnad. It is not far from the city center. How to go: you can take the Outer Link bus (Yellow Line) and the bus journey is about 30 mins. The main stop in city centre is at 10 Wellesby St East.... More

My lovely wife and I took some family visiting from overseas up Mount Eden. As you can no longer drive your car to the top, you have the opportunity to enjoy the walk up, and down. We walked slowly up the road which allows glimpses of the suburbs around the mount. At the top you really do see a pretty... More

We went to that nice park to admire several views of downtown Aukland, the bays, the ocean and the craters all around. The perfect place to walk, take lovely pictures and appreciate great landscapes.

Went here today from many recommendations. Short bus trip from the city centre. Walk was easy enough for me who struggles with Hills. Probably took 20 minutes max and we took the back hilly route. Loved the view of the city and crater. Free and magical. A must do! Bring water there is not water available and the shops are... More

We were there on a very windy afternoon and this place attracts the wind! It is striking how perfectly shaped and steep the caldera is and of course there is a great view of Auckland from the top. Worth a visit.

Far better than paying for sky tower and much closer than Rangitoto. This mount has all of the best views around the city and suburbs. Car-accessible but better as a hike. Must do! (And free!)
