Matariki Thursday was absolutely packed at 8.00 pm fun every where
The bars and restaurants all full and a great cross section of community out about having fun
I have been coming to KTD for 50 years and it still brings me joy
Leave your preconceptions at the door and go explore its great fun

Lots of bars and restaurants as you walk along, and with outdoor seating also. Sadly there are also lots of vacant shops... Neat place to wander and do a bit of people watching.

My apartment was at the top of Symonds St so K-road was quite handy for takeaways, breakfasts etc as there are plenty of options along this road. I wouldn't say it was anything special - just a great road for dining. You can catch the TrafficLink bus along here as well.

We rode the city bus and got off near the Grafton Bridge to walk this legendary heritage street. We had a small guide book and were able to point out the historical structures at both sides of the road. There are banks, lots of retail shops, hotels, boardinghouses, and churches. One interesting structure was Women’s Restrooms built to serve the large number of female shoppers with children. The modern structure replaced the original 1920’s building.
Some of the shops were founded late 1800’s

I went on a hop-on hop-off tour and walked around K Road. It reminded me of a place at home that's the new up and coming area. There's a great mix of shops, restaurants and people in the area. You can go to woman owned book store, go next door and get a tattoo and walk down the road and then get a vegan meal. I really loved this area when I visited I would definitely recommend checking it out.

There are so many second hand stores this is the go to place for vintage shopping!! Also some good wee cafes and eateries. I’ll be coming here now every time I come to Auckland. If you have a car go a bit further and check out the comic book store Heroes.

While walking around we checked out this street, there were plenty of fun shops to check out, if your looking for un-ordinary places with nothing to do.
