I guess we were there at a bad time. We waded out about three foot into the surf. We were able to see 2 rays and one kingfish thru the murky waters. None close enough to see very well and definitely not close enough to feed. On the good side, the staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable and friendly.... More

We were travelling around East Cape and one of the things I really wanted to do was to walk with the stingrays. Talked the others into it as well. No regrets from anybody - highlight of the trip. The others all got into waders but they didn't have my foot size. Our hosts found some dive boots that I used... More

Starting with a mind-blowing sunrise, we traveled by foot over the waters of the Tatapouri harbour to meet with eagle rays, king-fishes and long tailed rays. The spectacle of nature that was waiting for us in the middle of teh harbour was simply beyond beliefs. The rays were super interactive, the king-fishes were energetic and the atmosphere was vibrant to... More

What an experience! After donning waders we moved on to the beach where our guides gave us a few pointers before we ventured on to the reef. The guides were on hand to help people like me who found it a little difficult to navigate the uneven ground. Once out on the reef, the stingrays swam around us completely unafraid.... More

This is a must do for anyone staying in Gisborne! We did this 5 times in 6 months (bringing along various friends and family who visited) and it never got boring. It is an incredible experience to get so close to these fascinating animals and learn about their surroundings. The guides are enthusiastic and informative, and very safety conscious -... More

We visited as a family group with two boys aged 10 and 11. The whole experience - from putting on waders to feeding rays & kingfish - was interesting and fun.

A completely different attraction in NZ. Well liked by my teenagers who enjoyed feeding the stingrays. Not something you can do anywhere else.
