Six nights a week the marae is transformed into a magical setting where performers from the Culture North night show tell visitors to Northland the real story of New Zealand. A contemporary production combining drama, music and dance, the show relates the traditional story of how two cultures; Maori and European, settled in New Zealand.

Performers were genuinely enthused with their work, and open to visitors' questions. The night-time experience of re-enacting a visit to a Maori community was very moving.

a must see to learn about Maori heritage. The show itself was quaint and charming and that adds to its appeal. It's not slick and we believe that made it much more authentic and enjoyable.

The show was interesting and quite well done. I would have preferred to have a more comprehensive talk on the Maori culture and history before the show. I thought the cost of the show was expensive for what we got. I would recommend it -...More
