Free geothermal park

This park is a geothermic wonder. Along the paths there are cordoned off sections which have bubbling mud and water behind. Fascinating place, a real wonderland.

Spent the afternoon walking around this park, amazing to see the hot springs and bubbling mud dotted randomly across the landscape. Lake Kuirau is great.

It's a nice place to wander around with children. A good playground and a little splash pool when it gets hot. Also nice to soak adult feet in the hot foot pools. The market is average. Not really a farmer's market, more food and bric a brac than produce and homemade goods which is what I would think of as... More

Kuirau Park was the first place we visited on our holiday in Rotorua. Not having been here before, it was very interesting for us to wander past the bubbling mud and steaming hot water pools; all fenced off for our protection. The little pools for soaking your feet were surprisingly very popular with the tourists - including me. The Saturday... More

This is a public park within Rotorua city a short ealk from most hotels in town. Here you can experience much of the geotermic activities without any fees.

Although the 'geothermal' here is minimal compared to some of the local blockbuster parks, it is free! Several steaming pools and at least 3 foot pools that are a boon for aching feet. We are sure our skin felt softer after a dip too. Other than that the gardens themself are somewhat plain.

There were many great parts to this park, thermal pools, bubbling mud, playgrounds, gardens, historic sculpture, parkland etc but the best part for us was the footspa where you could casually let your feet soak, relax and refresh, whilst informally meeting people who were doing the same. That this is all free is wonderful for the public. We came here... More

When we drove into Rotorua we saw this beautiful park with its hot springs sprouting hot steam. The next day we make sure to include it in our itinerary. It is easily laid out by nice walking paths and there are several thermal areas that you can view up close and personal. Definitely a must see when visiting Rotorua.

Enjoyed walking here with quite a few mudpools and sulphur vents, different coloured water, foot bath to dunk your feet.

Great place to really get the true feeling for NZ culture, with Kiwiana to be brought and eaten, I really enjoyed my experience here, we loved relaxing in the foot pools and kids thought the park was fantastic. A must do
