Rotorua can be very expensive for the average kiwi family and so Kuirau Park is a gem in that you can see mud pools etc in an easy to get to site close to town. Even great on a rainy day. Can even try out the free thermal foot pools.

I would recommend this to any and everyone, what a beautiful walking and cycling track. The thermal activity was amazing really glad we went and did this. If you want to make a day of it take a picnic and have a BBQ as free BBQ's on park. We were staying at the Cleveland Motel so only 2 minute walk... More

This was a great introduction to the thermal activity of the area. It was free to walk around and had some thermal pools you could put your feet in.

We packed a lot into our stay but didn't quite manage one of the paid park experiences. Kuirau Park allowed us to get up close to a range of suitably stinky,... More

We found this lovely park with bubbling mud pool and vents to see for free. There is also a good pool where you can soak your feet in the thermal water-brilliant.

A good insight into the hot thermal springs and mud pools around this area but it is free and you can spend as much time as you like. Masses of parking and open space.

Great opportunity to get a taste for what Rotorua has to offer and for free too. Plenty of parking and places to picnic. Can even relax those tired feet in the hot-pools.
