A stunning place to visit. The info centre is set-up well and the maps/routes around the forest are accurately described and mapped. Bathrooms were clean and there was a nice little selection at the cafe. The forest itself is incredible and easy to get around.

We did the treetop walk on a sunny and warm late spring day. The staff were friendly, welcoming and packed full of information about the beautiful trees and the environment. We met Ken, one of the info guys, who was exceptional. It was a short...More

A hidden gem and well worth a visit. We did the tree walk first which was very good and one of the walking paths. With all the sulphur smells around town, this was like going to another world. If we had known we would have...More

I recently visited this park and it was very enjoyable. There are plenty of trails to hike with a variety of lengths and difficulties. I visited twice, during the daytime and again in the dark for the light display. The trees are truly impressive and...More

Great experience. Trees were lit up and bridges were a cool way to tour the forest. Easy walk and very educational.

We learned a lot visiting this place. While driving down to Rotorua from Auckland, we wondered why there were so many Redwood trees lining the highway. Turns out, they brought them here for construction. But, we learned that the excessive water made the Redwoods grow...More

The Redwood forest is awesome and you can do it for free. I wouldn't advise doing the treetop walk as it is too expensive and unnecessary when you can simply walk along the trees on the forest floor for free.

Hi Marshy, yes it is safe for that. There are a few sulphur ponds so I would probably keep children close but it is a lovely walk. (Noting I only did the shortest one).
