A chance to learn something about the Maori culture and to also enjoy some entertainment and a great meal. Our bus driver got us started on the evening with some fun and commentary on what to expect. Unexpectedly I was volunteered as chief for our busload for the night. It was really quite an experience and would recommend it to... More

I went on this evening as a solo traveler and was impressed with the whole set up. From the bus ride to the village with a cool and interactive driver (Aroha) to the interesting history and performances the evening is a definite must if you are there. There is also a huge amount of food and it's all really good.... More

We learned a lot about Maori culture and had a lot of fun. Most of the people performing in the village were very professional and looked like they are living the Maori culture. But some of them were quite bored and absent. The dinned was great. Well, I have to admit that my husband enjoyed it more than I did,... More

I am one of the fortunate few, who was lucky to do this trip through the kiwi experience. i got to sty the night over, learn some Maori songs, games and the culture. The... More

We were on a motorhome tour with the camping and caravan club . There were 15 motor homes on the tour. We were staying on a campsite in Rotarua and were picked up by coach. The Maori welcome was brilliant. The Maori men came in a canoe. We watched as the baskets were dug up with our hangi inside. We... More

This is an excellent nights entertainment providing a very good insight into Maori protocol and an opportunity to learn a little of the early Maori settlement in New Zealand The concert and the hangi are both excellent plus the fact that this all takes place in a natural environment makes this experience possibly one of the best of its kind...
