The first part of this tour was very good and interesting. After you get into the village and the chief does an introduction, they take you in small groups to the village and demonstrate Maori life. You move from station to station to learn about...More

just too touristy, reminded of me of the luoal in Hawaii. Kind of a grab for your money. Other things more fun to do but family oriented

The native Maori people are obviously proud of their heritage and although a bit staged it really was meant to teach and interact as well as provide revenue for the native Maori people. The food was good although a bit dry for my taste. You...More

A night full of Maori culture. There are various interactive stages with lots of audience participation. You are taken through a miniature traditional village followed by a stage show. The night is finished with a truly delicious hungi (buffet feast). Great night, highly recommended.

We all enjoyed the evening very much and learned some Maori words and customs. The food was plentiful but don't expect gourmet. The only negative was the number of people, though the crowds were generally well managed.

This is a fantastic set up but to be honest, I was disappointed. It was very crowded so it was difficult to see most of the action. While we waited for the last bus loads to arrive we were asked to stand in a group...More

We were picked up from our accommodation and the bus driver turned out to be a real Maori character. The bus took us to the village where 3 other buses were waiting and the initial (serious) part of the evening was the greeting at the...More

Hey Jacqueline, There were no infants on our particular tour. I don't have children myself, but I didn't feel that there was anything obvious on the tour that would be inappropriate for a 3 1/2 year old. If your child is... More

Best option is to stay a night or 2 in rotorua. You can fly up but probably cheaper to get a Mana or Intercity bus. They will pick you up from your accommodation in rotorua and drop you off after the performance.
