Wai-O-Tapu is pure geo-thermal and has different colours of slurry based on the material beneath. Te-Puia has geo-thermal as well as cultural program, museum, KIWI bird, etc. You can avoid Wai-O-Tapu if you are not very keen... More

Yes it is - however not advisable due to costs. It may pay to look online at the Intercity Bus or other operators that come to us daily like Headfirst Tours and the like. A taxi is an expensive option.

There is no guided tour. It's self walk only. You need to reach there before lady Knox geyser time. Keep minimum 2 hours to explore entire park at good comfortable walk. It's worth to spend 2 hours then to rush.
