We were told by others that this was a highlight of their trip and it certainly was for us as well. The colours are amazing. We did the full walk, about an hour and a half and it was well worth it. The scenery is...More

This is truly a wonderland. It's hard to believe there are places like this. An utterly compelling, fascinating park with vivid colours and sulphourous smells, lakes and geysers, mudpools and forests. The loop is an absolutely stunning walk. You see mud pools bubbling away by...More

It was amazing to see the different colors in the water. Timing is important if you want to see the Lady Knox geyser.

It was nice and fun to see, but I don't think it's something you "have to see". There are other places where you can see the geothermal activity for free, but I wont say it's a waste of money.

Rather hot day so lather on your sun screen if u r going now in summer. Did the entire walk and saw interesting geothermal lakes and pools. Good to spend a few hours and the smell wasn't that off-putting.

The scenery is fantastic and the Champagne pool is amazing. Water is so clear and bubbles, like champagne. If you want to see the Lady Knox geyser, then you need to be there at 10:15 am. Not sure how they control the time but interesting...More

This place had wonderful views of mid Earth Productions! The geothermal outlines of the volcanic activity underneath the Earth's surface are incredibly interesting and really beautiful on the surface. Definitely worth going to see

We did not expect the variety of thermal features or vast area. The path is laid out well and features are identified. The visitor center is the last place for a WC (bathroom) and there are no services in the park itself (past visitor center....More

Hey I don't think you will need to visit Wai-O-Tapu. If you want to go for a swim in a thermal, go to Kerosene Creek, it's free
