Stunning view, amazing place. The lake was formed from the crater of a volcano. Lake Rotorua is fed with water from a numerous streams; some such as the Utuhina flow warm water.

This lake is beautiful in an area of wonderful scenery- but its real highlight is that it is based on the edge of the worlds youngest geothermal Clive area. And accordingly it has an amazing amount of geysers, mud pools, hotels with naturally heated spas.

You can drive along the lake you can discover many lovely places. My friends and I did. It's a huge lake, and there are water activities that you can book to go on.
