Te Puia spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Valley, on the edge of town. We are home to the world famous Pohutu geyser, to mud pools, hot springs, to silica formations to the Kiwi bird and the national schools of wood carving, weaving, stone and bone carving. We have shared these treasures with manuhiri (visitors) for 170 years and proudly continue that legacy today.

Loved walking around this amazing place, plenty of sites to see. Finished off by the traditional dances and singers. WOW the group gets everyone involved. Talk about wanting to get up and dance, sing and join in. Well done!

This is a must visit to experience incredible nature putting on a show. Our guide Paul, did a fantastic job in explaining the geological events as well as giving general information. We stayed on after the tour to walk around again as well as venturing into other areas not on the tour, like the Ngararatuatara track. Highlights were the Pohutu... More

it is an iconic activity in Rotorua, you will get to see thermal pools mud and water and the geiser. For a few extra bucks you can also get a Maori performance that is really nice and recommended.

Decided to visit Te Puia which is at the end of Fenton st - don't walk there (unless you're fit) get the bus. It's $2.60 and stops right out front. We missed our booking and the lovely lady at ticketing changed it for us. She marked on our map where to go for the show and a tour giving times... More

When we went it was cold and raining but still didn't take away from the awesome sights available for viewing. The man made huts were very cool and the mud pools and geysers were also an awesome sight. We got in for free as we're locals but would have loved to see the Maori performance offered at night time.

This is an amazing place. You go on a guided tour of about 1 hour and then can spend more time on your own. There are many thermal pools, bubbling mud pools and the huge gheyser which is the 3rd largest in the world and goes of about every hour. The gheyser is truly huge and a must see site..... More

A fantastic place to visit with teenage children. Arrived early and spent half the day. Attended the cultural tour and was chosen as the chief! Were taught the greetings and got to sit up at the front and enjoy the ceremony. Tourist men are taught the Hakka and the ladies taught to dance and use various music instruments. Very entertaining.... More

Went here last minute to fill in my final day and what a good decision! The lady gave a reduce rate because it was a few hours until closing time, but I still managed to see it all. A word of advice, be patient with Pohutu. Lots of people came and went while the Prince of Wales geyser was erupting,... More

This was the second thermal park for us and was very impressed. The geysers were going for ages, great photo opportunities, very family friendly. We also were able to see a live kiwi bird in a special enclosure. The staff in the enclosure was very nice and very helpful / informative. Great day out
