The coastal walk way in my opinion is a must do when in New Plymouth. You can start anywhere and it is reasonably flat. Easy to walk. It has spectacular scenery both in sea views and coastal artwork. Awesome.

We hired bikes for our family group and had a great time on a sunny day. Coffee and cold drinks available, and the town is very accessible from the walkway. TSB used to make available mobility scooters which my 90 + yrs old mother often utilized. The Information Centre would have details.

A top place to go for a walk. Very interesting scenery throughout the walk with great views of Mount Egmont the port and White cliffs and all the shoreline. A must for all visitors to Taranaki. Have a drink at one of the stalls on the walkway.

This walkway is so fabulous and thousands of people use it every day summer and winter. Walking, running, skating, biking you name it. 9 Km's along the ocean from the Port to the suburb of Bell Block. Stunning totally - you must come to New Plymouth to experience this amazing wonderous walkway.

In my opinion, it is the best single project the... More

It's so wonderful to walk along the walkway on a nice sunny day, plenty of seating to sit and rest if you need to.

Great facility. Well maintained. Good for walking biking or just sitting. Need to be aware of other users and be prepared to amend behavior to suit. Good view of sea and other coastal features.

The coastal walkway is great - really scenic, especially at the bridge where, on a clear day, you get some great views of Mount Taranaki. I borrowed a bike a rode into the centre of New Plymouth - there's a cool cafe made out of a shipping container which has deck chairs and bean bags outside as well - a... More
