Always enjoy checking out the Len Lye engineered / kinetic motion artwork. The industrially sculptured forms intrigue and appeal to me. Interesting short film this time too. Didn't quite understand it, but it made me think - could have been the point...?

Impressive building - worth checking out for exhibits if there is something on. Free parking behind the gallery.

Like so many before me I was absolutely awed by the building's exterior (The Len Lye Centre) but greatly disappointed once I got inside. Perhaps I missed something - but all I found was one Len Lye kinetic sculpture, a couple of Len Lye films...More

The outside is the best thing about the Len Lye. There is a lot of space in the building that is empty. The main display was fuse box covers. Not a piece of art in sight.

I share the perspective of several other reviewers in that the outside of the building is absolutely spectacular. To be fair, the internal architecture is also innovative, towering, spacious and an overall brilliant space for exhibiting large installations. I had hoped for several Len Lye...More

A must to do in New Plymouth, if only to view the building from the inside. There is an excellent display of Len Lye's work.

This building looks pretty cool from its photos and from outside. However we spent 20 minutes tops in there, and that was trying to get something positive out of it. Not much to see, mostly weird poles that look like they should be marking the...More

The most interesting thing about this building is it's exterior. The exhibits inside were not very exciting at all and there was really not much to see.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a tour of this stunning gallery- without a guide I'm sure you would miss out on so much information. Our guide was knowledgable , articulate & entertaining, making it an enjoyable morning. The "skinny" mirrors on the exterior of...More
