Brooklands Zoo is a FREE, family focused zoo which is home to a variety of farmyard animals, amphibians, reptiles, oriental small-clawed otters, meerkats, a brolga, Bolivian squirrel monkeys and both capuchin and cotton-top tamarin monkeys, as well as a selection of exotic parrots housed inside a walk-through free-flight aviary.

A lovely little surprise at the top of Pukekura Park. Two different types of monkey, Alpacas, lots of Parrots [including a Cockatoo named Charlie] - great for the kids (& me too).

So cool that this zoo is free. A neat spot to walk around and enjoy seeing some animals. The bird aviary is very cool. Big playground for kids as well

one of the cleanest and well kept zoos we have been to, small but lovely and its free. perfect for a picnic lunch with children or without.

We always go to the wonderful, free to visit, Brookland Zoo when in New Plymouth. We have young children and the zoo totally fenced and gated. After walking around observing all the great animals around the perimeter of the zoo, the kids love to play...More

Lovely place to take your kids, its free, there is some lovely farm animals and a small playground, kids run around freely, it was a good way for our kids to burn some energy and pat some farm animals right in the middle of town

I loved the Brooklands Zoo. The grounds were clean and beautiful and the animals had clean and well sized enclosures. They didn't keep any large animals (e.g. lion, tiger, zebra, etc.) which was great to see! A very family friendly space with lots of information...More

A top class attraction not far from the centre of the City. Many things to look at and has all the written signs and information needed. The staff we encountered were very helpful and keen to be of assistance. Has a good car park but...More

Took our grandchildren on Sunday what a great time they had lots of things to see and do. Such fun. Great place for all ages and it's free.
