Over 2 days, we've spent about two and a half hours walking a couple of sections of this very well maintained, wide and well planned coastal walkway. There are quite a few entry points with see views most of the way. The path is very good and a little undulating. we'd happily go back and walk some other sections from... More

Such a good idea for New Plymouth! Great place to take the kids or all the family for a bit of a walk and fresh air (with great views).

Pleasant walk with friends. Watch out for bikes, scooters, people in wheel chairs. Bring water for a hot day.

I regularly walk the coastal walkway. I recently decided to try making eye contact with all of the other users I could and smile to them. In half an hour on the walkway I would estimated that I made eye contact with over 200 people and only two of them (a couple) did not smile back. This tell me that... More

We walked along the walkway and enjoyed the scenery. We saw people in what looked like golf carts, walkers, joggers and cyclists all using the walkway. Most enjoyable to walk and talk and find yourself seeing lots of different scenery.

An easy walk along the walkway if you want to see the port area and Ngamotu beach is a nice flat beach for swimming, with play area

Great walkway. Flat, wheelchair, mobility scooter and pet friendly. Take drinking water bottle if it is a hot day as the heat comes ofthe concrete walkway and it is very exposed.

Do not let you view and because it is a working port understandable. BUT always seem to make a lot of noise after midnight so have a very bad profile with the locals.

This walk is on par with some of the better boardwalks we have done, particularly in Queensland. Highly recommended.
