Brilliant place!! Well worth walking around and checking out the interesting formation, steam vents and bubbling mud. We went when it was raining, lightly, don't be put off it make everything even more extreme! 😊

We visited with our young children and enjoyed a slow walk around the craters. It's an amazing sight and something we've never encountered. A beautiful place for a walk and easy with the children.

Love this place. The steam, the smells, the primeval nature of it all - it really is a step back in time. A passing family were talking about whether dinosaurs had walked here, and you could easily imagine it. Great place, friendly helpful staff, plenty to keep everyone interested.

How many times have we driven past this sign? $8 entry fee and so worth the time and money for a taste of Taupo. Easy walk and so many photo opportunities. Mud pools, steam, colours! Beautiful and a must for all visiting Taupo.

easy relaxing walk in the cool winter. Saw some interesting but uncommon vegetation, mud pools and steam clouds. Not spectacular but overall enjoyable
