Located at the other end of the road where Huka falls and other attractions were, this was a convenient place to visit. I was an easy platform walk across the hot steaming crater pits. You will walk into gusts of sulphuric steam so get prepared...More

We managed to fit this in on a showery November morning. Admission was only 8 NZD which was well worth the money. There are plenty of safety warnings but the boardwalk was clear and allowed you good views of the fumaroles and hot bubbling mud....More

We were lucky to walk around here on a sunny day and thought the walk was worth the $8 admission fee. We saw some very interesting spots with bubbling mud pools, lost of steam and views of the mountains.

We maybe had expectations set a little too high, but it was still great to see and a nice walk through the craters. It was displayed how it works on the trail, which was quite interesting. The best view we had on the top of...More

If you enjoy a long walk (about an hour) through a valley with lots of craters, a little bit of steam on the edges, and no bubbling mud, try this one. Unfortunately, the price does not cover the exercise and lack of exciting geothermal activity....More

Craters of hte Moon is a walkway through an active geothermal area outside Taupo. It was interesting for our kids and a nice walk (weather was good). Not too pricey and quite a unique place. Would go back in a couple of years when kids...More

I am beginning to think you must be blind? "Craters of the Moon" is the title of my post in response to yours under the same heading!
