Great attraction, whether you have 30 mins - drive or 2 hours - walk from Spa Rd. It's such a worthwhile end to the walk - the mighty Waikato River gushing into white blue fury through the narrow pass. The walk is slightly more than a easy walk but much less than a hike. Good amount of information at Huka... More

Huka Falls is a place of considerable significance as part of the long and winding Waikato River. It has an intriguing back-story that one needs to familiarize themselves with, in order to appreciate the history and connection to Iwi Maori. It's a beautiful site offering a range of walking tracks and cycle-ways for a range of fitness levels. Spectacular scenery,... More

A tremendous natural wonder. It's easy to get to off the main road between Rotorua and Taupo and very close to Taupo. A must see for anyone in the area. There was sufficient parking and it was a very short walk to see the Falls. Great for all ages.

These have to be one of the most beautiful falls I have ever been to. The colours are amazing, and there are several little lookouts to view them from. There are several walks that can be taken around them, from a few minutes to several hours. I could have just sat and watched them for hours as the colours kept... More

My mum was awed by the Huka Falls. Its strong current is intimidating. Once in a while, we will see a boat at the end of the fall
