We sat outside under the veranda roof and enjoyed excellent coffee and salads; Tandoori Chicken and Smoked chicken. Both tasted delicious and beautifully presented. Certainly worth the effort to drive around the eastern bays.

Limited (though good) shops and cafes, a green play area but no playground equipment for the young children.

Nice beach, can hire kayaks, lovely park over the road with huge grass areas, bush walks, cafe & restaurant, delicious pizzas, cheap ice creams, great views! Can drive there, catch a bus, or the harbour ferry.

This is a really pleasant place to visit. It is great now that there's a ferry from Wellington direct to Day's Bay (it only takes 20 minutes), or it's also easily accessible by road around the bays from Petone and Seaview. Once here, Day's Bay is a very nice beach with a lovely green park, café, restaurants, craft stores and... More

Thought catching the ferry over with my partner would present a relaxing day by the sea. If you are after a day on the beach thus could be a good spot. However with the road running right along the beach and the persistent wind I am sure there must be better beaches.....if only we had transport. So we thought we... More

We caught the ferry across to Days Bay and Eastbourne but there was nothing to see or do apart from a couple of cafe's that were open, definitely not worth the trip on the ferry.

Wonderful place to spend the day. Catch the East/West ferry if coming from Wellington, have lunch in the park or at one of the cafes around the bay. Safe swimming beach for all ages.

My wife and I caught the ferry from Wellington CBD to Days Bay on a calm and brilliantly sunny day. Days Bay has several good shops, cafes and a restaurant. During week the bay is very peaceful but on our recent visit it was hectic with many motorists finding it difficult to find a park. The beach is very good... More
