This bridge is a wooden work of art with places to sit on it and enjoy the view. It is central to many places including a walk along the waterfront.

An interestingly built piece of art really. You can quickly walk over it and take it 'in' whilst on your way to the waterfront. Quirky and fun bridge. Very iconic for Wellington.

A brilliant job disguising a boring concrete footbridge over the road with clever use of wood, sculptures and paving, and by varying the width it allows all sorts of activities to occur around it. At the seaward end there are good views of the harbour basin - often Dragon Boat racing there on a weekend. And it's a nice walk... More

This bridge links the downtown area of Wellington to the waterfront. A very interesting spot with lots of history and some wonderful views and photo opportunities. The plaques and monuments helped explain the significance of the area

The City to Sea Bridge is like an outdoor exhibition for art lovers. Spend your lunch time there, sit sheltered from the wind, enjoy art and great views of city and sea. The bridge is beautifully created and so easy to visit!

Why build a traditional steel bridge when you can build a work of art, laced with a modern take on traditional Maori carving, interspersed with niches and benches where you can sit and watch the world go by. The bridge serves the practical purpose of linking the Civic Square with the waterfront.

We were not sure at first site whether this bridge had been damaged in the earthquake but found it to be a most interesting and different way to cross the road.
