This is an outstanding and spectacular beach and sheltered from the prevailing northerly wind. Water is cold for swimming except on a very hot day (22C +) but beach is reasonably sheltered and great for sun bathing and has great views and an excellent cafe nearby. A lovely location for a family all day outing.

We walked barefoot along the truly golden sand, pristiine and inviting. No dogs allowed on the beach at all so no unexpected toe squelch. This place is picture perfect. I am sure it is crowded other times but we enjoyed the relative isolation. Great to revisit after so many years. Carry on around the coast on a good but winding... More

This is a cute little beach in a sheltered bay overlooking the entrance to the harbour. A great little beach to get away from the Northey wind.

It was our favourite beach in Wellington. Turquoise waters and golden sands. So dreamy. Plus the scorching bay cafe is a must. Delicious gourmet dishes with a priceless view. Do not miss this beach. It is truly awesome. Just charming and peaceful.

Experience this local hideaway. A beautiful beach hidden away from town where the locals go. Great for children.

Nice little bay to splash in the water or rock pools. Has a playground and changing / toilet facilities. Also cafe close by.

This is a great beach, clean, no dogs and safe for children. There are rock pools to explore, sand castles to build and a play ground to play in. The toilet and changing facilities are good and there are trees to shelter under if the sun is too much. Only complaint is the parking. Clearly someone did not measure the... More

Pretty beach with cafe close by. Great to walk along the walkway and then have a coffee. Nice for kids or for a family picnic.

It is just stunning along this part of the coastline. I recommend you add this to your leisurely Sunday drive. Take the time to smell the sea air and listen the seagulls and sea.

This is a place with a great view. There is a little restaurant that is very well known for decorating a wall with shells and it is quite a display and definitely worth taking a look if you are in the area. They were still cleaning up the beach from a recent storm but it would definitely be busy in... More
