About
Allan Scott is one of the true pioneers and a name synonymous with New Zealand’s acclaimed Marlborough region, having been involved with the planting of the region’s first vineyard in 1973. In June 2011 he was awarded with a Queens Birthday honour for services to the New Zealand wine industry. Allan along with wife Catherine founded the Allan Scott Family Winemakers label in 1990 and quickly became a household brand name in the highly competitive wine industry. Today Allan, Catherine and entire family of Victoria, Joshua and Sara head up the production marketing and management of the company with a highly skilled operational team. The family produces a range of aromatic wines especially well suited to the region’s gravelly soils and sunny climate; Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer while an exceptional Methode Traditionelle made with the traditional techniques and using only Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is also produced.

- vanagon8416 contributionsExceptionalA stonkingly good lunch. We arrived very early as our transfer from Picton was early. We arrived around 10.30am and the staff accommodated us beautifully, storing our luggage and serving up a sparkling wine. The food and service were exceptional and surpassed our first stop for lunch on our four day trip (Wither Hills), by miles. Kudos to the kitchen and wait staff and to host Nicky. Exceptional. Make this your first stop if frequenting eateries in the area. Your only stop of you have time for just one lunch.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten December 16, 2023
- FourTravel2013Auckland, New Zealand158 contributionsAwesome LunchFive of us had a fantastic lunch here in the shaded courtyard. All our meals were beautifully presented and full of flavour. We enjoyed a couple of bottles of their excellent wine and a few glasses of bubbles. We were very well looked after by the lovely wait staff. In short, a wonderful relaxing afternoon, outstanding value and we highly recommend going.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten January 14, 2024
- pedro00Kinross, United Kingdom357 contributionsGreat wines and wonderful foodWe had booked for lunch and decided to do a wine tasting first. The tasting room is state of the art with every bottle kept at the correct temperature in special cabinets and a card system for purchasing your samples with a choice of sizes, brilliant! There are tasting notes provided and knowledgeable staff to assist. We then moved on to lunch which was wonderful, we both has salad bowls which were tasty and beautifully served. Overall a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend this winery.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten February 9, 2024
- BruceWhiritoa, New Zealand11 contributionsVery highly recommend. Fantastic experienceFrom the time we arrived our party of 7 the experience was fantastic. The staff were very courteous and very friendly and made sure we were satisfied with our drinks and our meals. Meals from the starters to the mains and desserts were all timely and we didn’t wait long but allowed good conversation between meals. Pricing was very reasonable I don’t do 5 stars and I don’t tip but the overall experience was that good I broke those two rules. I would highly recommend the lunch experience. We will be back. Thank youVisited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten February 28, 2024

We visited two days after the re opening, on Father's day, so naturally it was a little busy. Ordered our food and chatted to each other whilst we waited. After a little while Sara came to our table and invited us to meet Josh (the winemaker) in the wine tasting area because our food was still about ten minutes away. Great initiative on her part.
Josh is extremely knowledgeable about the different wines the company produces and generously gave us tastings of a selection.
This was a great way to transform the experience into something positive and very memorable.
Food was good too! A delightful, family run operation.

We stopped at this vineyard for dinner during which we also had a tasting of 3 wines. Several people in the group bought wine because it was among the best wines we tasted in Australia and New Zealand with good value for money.
The meal was very good.

Great service. Very friendly staff. On arrival we tried the automated wine machines imported from Italy that gave us a choice of 24 wines, $1 taste, larger portions $3.50 or $4.50. A fantastic idea. Ordered lunch and dining is now on a casual basis, sit wherever you like, no bookings. Fabulous gardens. We sat outside. The chicken salad is highly recommended, it is in a tortilla basket. Fish tacos were also VG.

The woman on reception rudely dismissed us when we were only asking about having lunch on a day they were busy. I’ve never been spoken to so sharply but anyone in the so-called ‘hospitality’ industry. Reading other reviews it seems like other people have had a similar experience. I would strongly recommend NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE

We arrived on an extremely busy Easter Sunday lunch time and managed to get a table in the sun. The food excellent as always, but must comment on the equally excellent staff. They were all very pleasant and friendly even though they were under pressure most of the time because the number of tables were continuously occupied. Service was timely and always with a smile. Particular mention must go to Sarah who seemed to be everywhere and doing a multitude of tasks, remaining good natured and friendly. We will visit again next time we visit Marlborough from North Canterbury

We visited Allan Scott's as part of a wine tour, had a delicious lunch sitting outside on a crisp, sunny day - wine tasting happened during lunch, a lovely relaxing meal and visit to the winery and restaurant. They were quite busy but didn't make it obvious. Definitely recommended.

Lovely sheltered courtyard setting with undercover areas.Very relaxed friendly vibe for dining. Menu not only well thought out - food is beautifully crafted with exquisite photo worthy presentation - flowers, micro herbs, sauces and taste lives up to the presentation - first class. Locals dine there so you should too.

Although the staff was trying their best we didn't really enjoy our lunch yesterday, everyone seemed very hectic & stressed and we had to wait quite a while for our food which in the end was absolutely disappointing and far from any high class experience.
For the price you pay you will not be satisfied at all, we had the Hot smoked salmon salad which was on the menu as a main course and only got a little "side salad"bowl where everything was just thrown together not even nicely arranged.
My husband had the beef which also was cooked through but he ordered medium cooked and it was a tiny piece with 2 tiny veggies-it did look quite "lost " on the plate.
All in all not recommended unfortunately .

We stopped off for lunch on a short weekend break to Blenheim. Service was excellent, served by Nicky who gave a tasting of two savs and one chard, samples to accompany the Hapuka Poke bowl. Food was delicious as was the wine. Would recommed a visit.

Thanks for your question. We love dogs, and in fact have our own winery dog, Digby. However as we are a food premise, we are unable to have animals inside the restaurant or cellar door I'm sorry.
