A great collection of aircraft and stories of NZ history. And free! Well worth a visit and a drive around the area where the airfield in now a suburb and the control tower from the airfield is still there.

If you love military history (and some of our part do) then this is a great stop. if you don't you can skip it. The staff were lovely and most helpful. The souvenir shop had some great choices.

One of the best displays we have seen. On the tour we were taken behind the scenes and viewed the M.A.S.H. helicopter and were allowed inside an Iriquois, great experience.

Amazing displays of old aircraft, with photographic displays of the various wars. Also interactive areas for the children (pilot a plane etc). Well worth a visit if you are in Christchurch.

A family visit and it was great fun. Kids enjoyed checking out the various displays and loved things like the mosquito simulator. Informative about our NZ cousins air force history. Very well laid out and informative tour.

Allow plenty of time for this. I would recommend the behind the scenes guided tour, as a special bonus. Because of this we ran out of time so came back for a second day to finish off. This allowed us to sample the well appointed...More
