Along with Hagley Gardens, Mona Vale is amazing! I love the rose gardens, all the different colors and fragrant. The lily ponds are so warm and inviting that you want to jump in but you can't and shouldn't. Walking along the canal is so relaxing...More

The wettest day in ChCh for some time, but inside was it was lovely and warm. The refurbishment looks great, the colours scheme in soft greens reflects the outdoors nicely. It was way too wet to venture into the gardens, but they were truly gorgeous....More

Beautiful house and gardens close to downtown Christchurch. Houuse is open as a restaurant. High tea is available. We didn'thave time to eat here but it looked lovely. The gardens are well kept and meander along the river. the gazebo is very unusual.

We really liked our walk through Mona Vale because you could look into the gardens of the homes on the waters edge and there truly are some spectacular houses/architectural structures being put up in Christchurch post quake!

Mona Vale has just reopened recently and is just lovely, the gardens, the rose garden, just walking around the river from Fendalton Rd. Go into the Homestead where the Cafe is, even just for a look and a nosy around its beautiful.

We went for afternoon tea and a stroll in the gardens on a fine Saturday afternoon. The afternoon tea was excellent and the gardens beautiful.

We walked through here as part of a bus trip. It's a small, but beautiful setting and the walk along the side of the stream (river?) is quite glorious.
