Has a great insight into early Dunedin, and it's colonisation. Opened my eyes to that early history. Ideal for kids as well with some activities inside for them too.

I live on the other side of town, and go here whenever I feel bored walking around. Place has great exhibits which really highlights Dunedin's past.
This has an excellent representation of the settlement of Nz. Lovely reception area. Displays are outstanding- many were interactive.

Neatly laid out and very interesting - even had live music in the foyer...! All items well labelled and displayed all sorts of Otago life.
There was so much to see my partner and I went back for a second day. Fascinating displays with good, but not excessive, descriptions. Interactive displays were interspersed throughout the museum. Anyone could find something of interest here. And it is free!
