We stopped here for lunch, and I had read on the internet about the secret garden. The food was cooked fresh for us, was delicious and prices were reasonable. Didn't realise the extent of the secret garden, which was a 2 dollar entry and we...More

We were campervanning, and wanted a less commercialised spot than Intercargill had to offer. This suited us perfectly. Lovely owners. We walked round the lake when we woke up, what a well thought out spot, just where you would want children to run and play....More

Having heard about it we made it our destination for one Sunday in Winter. Great place! Nice gardens with lots of natives (endemic plants), the lake adds a point of interest with swans and ducks. Lots of hidden nooks and crannies to explore, and a...More

Nice spot with beautiful gardens and lake. We had a powered site which was very quiet until 3 German back packer cars turned up and decided to sit and talk and laugh outside until I had enough and went outside and say something at 12:30am....More

You can dine outside or inside depending on the weather but the view is beauttiful anyway. The food is lovely and down to earth.

Lovely spot. Unpretentious cafe, superb for lunch. The food is fresh and plentiful. People seem to be encouraged to take their time and eat at leisure. All a bit quirky and charming. Plus of course the gardens.
