Excellent beach. Popular with swimmers and surfers.

Great picnic spot or for swimming and there are plenty of waver for surfing. There is a great walkway around the edge and plenty of sand to just sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Beautiful, patrolled beach with picturesque headland. Easy access Grab a a snack or a coffee at the Kiosk. There is a dog friendly beach with in walking distance and the historic Fort Scratchley up the hill. The toilets/change rooms could do with an update.

We came here to walk out to Nbbys Head and we're surprised at how pleasant the beach was. Also, amazingly, the parking was free for three hours. There was a sandy beach, a cafe, bathrooms and places to sit out of the sun. The walk to the Head gave great views

Easy access to the beach. Not many cities have a surf beach this close. Great place for surfers. The surf club offers amenities and patrol in the sheltered part of the beach.

Nobby's is a beautiful beach with a wonderful outlook and what makes it extra special is the gorgeous walks you can do in both directions. It is so pretty and with the lighthouse on the breakwater this is a must see for tourists and just awesome for the locals.

Nobbys Beach was the perfect way to spend some time outside with friends. The waves were great for body surfing, it wasn't too crowded and the water was warm enough to handle. Fish and chips is a must at the little food stand nearby. I'd recommend applying and reapplying loyal of sunscreen. It's perfect for fun with your friends or... More

a lovely safe family beach, however, the toilet facilities are archaic!! in the change room there is ONE female toilet and then to gain access to more toilets you must go around to the back of the building. There are TWO toilets in this area. Now we were there on a weekday non-holiday time and there were 5 women looking... More

Nobbys Beach (called Whibayganba by the original inhabitants - the Awabakal { əˈwɒbəɡæl }) is an iconic Newcastle beach and well worth a visit. The beach is a fairly safe swimming beach, has lifesavers on duty in summer and there are amenities and a shop as well. The beach takes it's name from Nobbys Head (originally an island) which is...
