Best dog beach!

My dog just loves this beach, so do I. I like the size, it isn't too big, and there are always lots of dogs for your pooch to play with. Also you don't have to worry about any... read more

Travelling through from an area with zero offleash dog friendly areas, it was wonderful to pull into the conveniently place parking to see so many pets happily rollicking about in the waves and running up and down the beach. Our 1 year old Lab hasn't had a surplus of offleash socialisation opportunity, but quickly joined a couple of spirited pups... More

I've been going to this special place for 30 years now. I miss the swimming horses, but i love that we have a designated dog beach, with parking in Newcastle. This place has and is very special to me and my companion Labrador.

My dog just loves this beach, so do I. I like the size, it isn't too big, and there are always lots of dogs for your pooch to play with. Also you don't have to worry about any humans getting grumpy about dogs running about off leash being silly, because this beach is just about dogs really. I wouldn't bring... More

Nice beach, warm water, what you want more? Okay swimming area limited but safety net because of the jellyfishes at the moment, but if you aren't too scared take a swim and enjoy the sea. Go to the fortress to see some koalas in the wildlife (if you are lucky ;) )

Newcastle's 'go to' dog beach, right on the harbour, Watch the comings and goings of a very busy working port while your dog plays socialises and swims with others dogs. Often the racing fraternity bathe their race horses here. Plenty of parking, close to the breakwater and the town. Coffee kiosk and toilets close by at Nobbys Surf Club.

Horseshoe Beach is the city beach to take your dog to run, fetch, swim and socialise with other dogs. The beach and sandy bushland is located on the harbour foreshore off Horseshoe Beach Road, Newcastle East with ample free parking closeby. While your pooch is enjoying some leash free time with his canine friends, you get a close up opportunity... More

This is THE beach if you want to take your dog for a sociable swim. That said, if you don't have a dog then any other Newcastle beach is a better choice (they're all appealing). Horseshoe Beach is also a great spot if you're planning on doing some paddling around the harbour. The roadway is quite close to the beach... More

Horseshoe Beach is really for those with dogs, as the dogs are able to run free, swim and interact with the other dogs, unleashed. Weekends its very busy , its not a beach I would go to unless I had a dog.

Horseshoe beach is a dog friendly beach opposite Nobby's beach (not dog friendly) so is a magnet for people and their pooches. The beach itself is nestled between Nobby's and the Foreshore so makes it a convenient place to stop off before or after at the park. I would also recommend going up to the break-wall as well if your... More
